(y)our train is on time

Hello, friend.
You know I’ve shared this before, but I truly believe that within the quiet, ordinary moments of everyday life lies the extraordinary. God hides there, and when we become still enough to look for Him, to listen for Him, and to behold His beauty, we’ll find Him, everywhere.

Today I wandered around the city, went to church, prayed, rested, and basked in the simple joy of drinking a matcha. On my way home, I sat down at the train station to wait for my ride home.
It happened to be an especially crowded day because there was a soccer match happening, (years ago, I would have freaked out and been close to a panic attack being in a public crowd, but these are the fruits of prayer, practicing (t)His PRESENCE. I was able to sit peacefully and simply enjoy the bubbling life of the train station.)
I sat down on the bench to wait for my train. Seconds later, a mother sat down to my right with her daughter asleep on her shoulder. Shortly after, a man who appeared to be experiencing homelessness sat down to my left too.

I sat in silence and searched my bag for some coins, but all I had was a can of tuna I had just bought. I asked him if he wanted it but said he was fine. I wasn’t sure about his mental state, so I tried to respond with gentleness and grace. He shared a few words about expecting to receive some money tomorrow and how he was behind on paying for his parking fine. I smiled, prayed quietly in my heart, and we sat together in silence.

To my right, a little girl slept peacefully on her mother’s shoulder. To my left sat the man experiencing homelessness. I just sat there gazing straight ahead at the green sign that read:

Trains Are On Time.

I felt a deep tenderness, and a gentle cry wanting to rise within me as I took in the beauty and paradox of the moment. I didn’t cling to the feeling. Instead, I straightened my back, listening to the Inner Silence and I could feel His Joy rising within me.

This moment was perfect and I could smell the familiar scent of incense that we burn on the Holy Mass on sundays, Here at the train station.

Only He is here.
Everything is appearing within Love.
The mans train arrived, and I said goodbye. As his train departed, another one arrived, releasing a stream of people rushing past on their way to the football match.

I noticed the movement all around me, yet all I could feel was stillness. I felt blessed to simply witness and silently bless the stream of people passing by.

My train arrived and as I stepped inside, I exhaled knowing that we’re all already being carried by this stream of Love; within It, through It, and as part of It.

We’re all on the same train, and everything is okay. It”s On Time.
We don’t need to rush to get anywhere, we get to rest.
We get to share this journey together In Joy.

What a blessing! Thank you for reading me, thank you for being on this journey with me.
I Love You!
